Manuscript Editing by Integrity Editorial Services       In a word . . . Integrity    Services offered by Integrity: Through Integrity, I provide editing work for book manuscripts, articles, and content for newsletters, brochures, Web sites, and more. Several levels of editing are available to meet your specific need: •� Proofreading If your document is almost ready for publication, having been edited and formatted, I'll proofread it for you. I'll function as a fresh set of eyes to look over your work for errors in spelling, grammar or punctuation, or problems with the formatting. If necessary, I can verify that earlier corrections have been made properly. I can proofread an electronic file or a printout mailed or faxed to me. •� Copy editing If you have polished your document until you can't see any more room for improvement, I'll copy edit it. I'll look for errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, word usage, capitalization, and the like. I'll do my best to make sure your work displays internal consistency. And I'll also suggest small ways to improve your wording, such as eliminating redundancies, reworking awkward phrasings, and improving transitions. I can copy edit an electronic file or a printout, but remember, this is a heavier edit, so this step should be performed before the document is laid out in its final form. •� Manuscript evaluation If your document still needs some work but you are ready for another opinion and some guidance, I can do a manuscript evaluation. Rather than get into the nit-picky aspects of copy editing, I'll look more closely at the big picture: the structure of your sentences, paragraphs, chapters and the entire document. I can evaluate an electronic file or a printout. • Developmental editing If you would like me to do a manuscript evaluation and implement my suggestions, I'll do a developmental edit for you. I'll likely do some extensive rewriting along with many of the same things I would do if I were copy editing or proofreading. The end result will be a polished document that will present your ideas clearly and concisely. This type of editing can be done only on an electronic file. I'll do my best to give you a ballpark figure for your job in our first phone or email conversation, but to set a firm price and deadline I will need to see a sample of your work (at least five pages from the middle of the document). I'll edit your sample and quote you a price for your job--a price that I will not exceed. I'll then return the edited sample to you so that you can decide whether my work will be valuable to you.
